Left cylinder head, removing

Note: All cable ties which are released or cut open when removing must be fitted in same position when installing.

Work sequence
- Remove engine.
- Remove toothed belt.
- Remove camshaft sprocket.





- Unscrew idler wheel (arrow).
- Loosen nuts -1-.
- Remove bolts -2- and take out rear toothed belt guard.
- Remove intake manifold.





- Remove crankcase breather pipe (arrows).





- Disconnect coolant hoses -1-and -2-.
- Remove bolt -3-.
- Detach vacuum hose from combination valve for secondary air system.





- Unbolt rear coolant pipe from cylinder head (arrows).
- Remove left front exhaust pipe.
- Remove left exhaust manifold.
- Remove ignition coils.





- Remove bolts securing left cylinder head cover in sequence -12- to -1-.
- Remove cylinder head cover.
- Move wiring to knock sensors clear.





- Loosen cylinder head bolts in sequence -1- to -10-.
- Take off cylinder head and place it on a soft surface (such as foam plastic).
