Toothed belt drive, overview

Note: Mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt pen before removing toothed belt. If a used belt rotates in opposite direction when reinstalled, premature wear or breakage may occur.

1 - 10 Nm
2 - Pivot pin
3 - 20 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Always replace
4 - Washer
^ For tensioning roller
5 -40 Nm
6 - Tensioner
7 - Tensioning lever
^ Install washer -item 30
8 - 22 Nm
9 - 55 Nm
^ Always replace
^ Oil threads and contact surface of bolt head
10 -Securing plate
^ Always replace
^ Lettering "rear / hinten" goes to rear
11 - Camshaft sprocket (right)
^ To remove and install, first remove toothed belt
^ Pull off with two-arm puller T40001 and claw T40001/2
12 - 10 Nm
^ Apply locking fluid before installing
^ For required locking fluid, Refer to Parts Supplier
13 - Toothed belt guard - right rear
14 - Idler roller
15 - Pin - 6 Nm
16 - 14 Nm
^ Bolt with strength rating 10.9
17 - Coolant pump
18 - Gasket
^ Always replace
19 - Toothed belt guard - rear left
20 - 10 Nm
^ Apply locking fluid before installing
^ For required locking fluid-, Refer to Parts Supplier
21 - 10 Nm
22 - Camshaft sprocket (left)
^ To remove and install, first remove toothed belt
^ Pull off with two-arm puller T40001 and claw T40001/2
23 - Securing plate
^ Always replace
^ Lettering "rear / hinten" goes to rear
24 - 55 Nm
^ Always replace
^ Oil threads and contact surface of bolt head
25 - Toothed belt
26 - Eccentric wheel
27 - 45 Nm
28 - Crankshaft sprocket
^ Contact surface between sprocket and crankshaft must be free of oil.
^ Can only be installed in one position.
29 - 200 Nm plus an additional 1/2 turn (180°)
30 - Washer
^ For tensioning lever
31 -Tensioning element
