Condition
The RS6 4.2L Bi -Turbo engine (engine code BCY) requires engine oil that expressly conforms to Audi Oil Quality Standard VW 505 01 (only with viscosity SAE 5W-40).

Service
Whether using a synthetic or petroleum-based (at the time of this printing, all of the engine oils that meet the exacting Audi Oil Quality Standard are synthetic) engine oil, the oil must conform to Audi Oil Quality Standard - VW 505 01 in order to keep the vehicle's engine running smoothly and help prevent the formation of harmful sludge and deposits that can lead to expensive repairs.
Engine oil, servicing
All scheduled Audi Advantage maintenance services and topping off of engine oil between services require oil which meets Audi Oil Quality Standard VW 505 01. No other engine oil may be used in this engine unless it conforms to the Audi Oil Quality Standard - VW 505 01.
Engine oil, topping off
^ It is recommended that the customer always carry a spare quart / liter oil which meets Audi Oil Quality Standard VW 505 01 in case the engine oil needs topping off while on the road. The spare quart of oil should always be stored in its original container that is securely closed in the luggage compartment. Make sure the container is securely stowed.
^ Engine damage caused by using the wrong engine oil will not be covered by the applicable Vehicle Warranties.
Tip: Refer to TSB 2010043 for engine oils that meet Audi Oil Quality Standards.
