Fuel Distance/Mileage Module: Testing and Inspection

Consumption signal, checking

Test is valid only for vehicles up to m.y. 2000.

This signal is required for the consumption display in the instrument cluster.

If an incorrect fuel consumption is displayed in instrument cluster:
- Adapt consumption display to the actual consumption.

If no fuel consumption is displayed in instrument cluster:
- Connect VAG 1598/31 test box at wiring harness to Engine Control Module (ECM), do not connect ECM. Testing and Inspection

The following wire connections must be checked for short circuit to B+, Ground (GND) and for open circuit

Wire resistance: max: 1.5 Ohm

- Repair open circuit or short circuit if necessary.
- Read readiness code. If DTC memory was erased, readiness code must be re-generated. Testing and Inspection
