Expansion Block/Orifice Tube: Service and Repair




Restrictor, removing and installing

- Remove plenum cover.






- Discharge A/C refrigerant system.
- Disconnect refrigerant line at the threaded connection -A-.
Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 ft lb)
- Use needle-nose pliers to pull restrictor -B- out of the refrigerant line.


CAUTION!
Immediately plug open connections on A/C components and lines to prevent dirt and moisture contamination



NOTE:
- Install restrictor -B- the right way round (arrow on restrictor faces toward evaporator).
- Make sure O-ring -C- is correctly located in the groove.
- The restrictor must be seated free of play in the refrigerant line.
- Lubricate O-ring lightly (of restrictor) before installing in refrigerant line.
- Replace O-ring -D-.
