Wheels/Tires, Assembly Overview
1 - Metal valve stem

^ Dismounting and mounting tires, Refer to Fig. 1, Refer to Fig. 2.
5 - Wheel electronics
6 - Microencapsulated - bolt (Torx T20)
^ Tightening torque: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
7 - Union nut
^ Tightening torque: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
8 - Chamfered washer
Metal valve stem body, removing and installing
^ Insert metal valve stem with rubber seal through rim from the inside.
^ Install chamfered washer and union nut from the outside and tighten by hand.
^ Secure in place using retainer -1- (possibly 2 mm drill bit).
Tightening torque: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
^ Press wheel electronics -1- into drop center and bolt in at rear of valve stem using microencapsulated bolt.
Tightening torque: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
Tire change
The nickel plated valve stem insert must be replaced during every tire change.
The metal valve stem and the wheel electronics can be used again.
^ Release tire air by removing nickel plated valve stem insert.
^ Dismounting tire, Refer to Fig. 1.
Visually check for loose or damaged parts. Replace complete valve stem if the threaded connections are loose.
Always replace damaged wheel electronics.
^ Mounting tire, Refer to Fig. 2.
^ Thread in new nickel plated valve stem insert.
^ Inflate tire, re-install plastic cap.
^ Balance tire.

^ Roll off or press off tire.
^ Press tire off at the side opposite the valve stem first when using bead breakers.
Do not use bead breakers in hatched area -a-.
^ Align shoe near the valve stem at position -b- so that the tire iron can be positioned approximately 30 degrees from the valve stem.
^ Dismount tire in area of valve stem first.

Do not use bead breakers in valve stem area
^ Position wheel electronics approximately 180 degrees opposite the shoe.
^ Press tire into drop center approximately 90 degrees before the shoe (see arrow).
^ Mount tire.
Front reception antennas, removing and installing
The reception antennas are located behind the wheel housing liners.
^ wheel housing liners, removing and installing
^ Switch ignition off.
^ Disconnect harness connector -1-.
^ Remove bolts -2-.
^ Remove antenna.
Front reception antenna with bracket, removing and installing
1 - Fender mount
^ Tightening torque: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
2 - Antenna bracket
3 - Snap-on nut
4 - Antenna
5 - Hex bolts
^ Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.)
Install in reverse order of removal.
Left rear reception antennas, removing and installing
The reception antennas are located behind the wheel housing liners.
^ wheel housing liners, removing and installing
^ Disconnect harness connector -1,
^ Remove bolts -2,
^ Remove antenna.
Rear reception antenna with bracket, removing and installing
1 - Cap nut
^ Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.)
2 - Hex bolts
^ Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.)
3 - Snap-on nut
4 - Antenna
5 - Antenna bracket
Install in reverse order of removal.
Right rear reception antennas, removing and installing
The reception antennas are located behind the wheel housing liners.
^ wheel housing liners, removing and installing
^ Disconnect harness connector -1-.
^ Remove hex nuts -2-.
Tightening torque: 1.5 Nm (13.5 inch lbs.).
^ Remove antenna -3-.
Rear reception antenna with bracket, removing and installing
1 - Antenna bracket
2 - Snap-on nut
3 - Antenna
4 - Hex bolts
^ Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.)
^ Install in reverse order of removal.
