Vehicle With All Wheel Drive



Fuel Supply System (all-wheel Drive) - Vehicles As Of 07.2003


CAUTION:
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
- On vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar (R), switch-off the emergency (back-up) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module prior to disconnecting vehicle battery.
- After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows.
- After reconnecting vehicle battery on vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar (R), switch-on the emergency (back-up) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module.


NOTE:
- Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clamps (same as original equipment)
- Hose clip pliers VAG 1921 are recommended when installing spring-type clamps.
- Always replace seals and gaskets when assembling.

- Make sure that connector is seated properly and secure wire with fastening bolt for fuel filler neck -Item 8-
- After installation, use an ohmmeter to check the electrical connection between the metal ring on the fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on the body. Specification: approx. 0 Ohm

- Route ground connection as shown in illustration.
- First hook ground connection contact -1- into mounting hole on fuel tank -5- and then press in spacer sleeve -2-.
- Make sure that ground connection connector -4- is properly seated on metal ring -3- on fuel filler neck.


CAUTION:
After installation, use an ohmmeter to check the electrical connection between the metal ring on the fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on the body.
- Specification: approx. 0 Ohm.
