- With ignition switched off connect VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System with VAS 5051/1 diagnostic cable to 16-pin data link connector on vehicle and select address word "08 - A/C heater/electronics"Connecting VAS 5051 Tester

Erase DTC Memory

Requirements
- DTC memory checked and all displayed malfunctions eliminated. Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes

Indicated on display of VAS 5051:







- Select "Erase DTC Memory" function 05.

Indicated on display of VAS 5051:







- No display appears in display field -1-.
- A field is shown in display field -2- noticing that the data (of DTC memory) is erased when touching the "OK" button, and the question whether the function should be carried out or not.

NOTE:
- If "DTC memory has not been checked" is shown in display field -1-.
- Check DTC memory.
- If necessary eliminate any present malfunction(s).
- If ignition was switched off, e.g. between checking DTC memory and erasing DTC memory, then the DTC memory will not be erased.
- Touch "OK" button on display field -2- on VAS 5051 display.

"DTC memory erased" appears in display field -1- as soon as the DTC memory is erased.
- Touch on the VAS 5051 screen the button.
