Engine Lubrication: Service and Repair



Lubrication system components, removing and installing

Note:
^ If large quantities of metal shavings or abraded material are found in the engine oil while servicing the engine, oil passages must be carefully cleaned to prevent resulting damage and the oil cooler must be replaced.
^ Oil level must not exceed maximum marking - risk of catalytic converter damage!
^ Oil injector jet for piston cooling, Refer to Fig 1.





Part I - Oil pan (lower part), oil pump
1. Seal
^ Always replace
2. 10 Nm
^ tighten diagonally in sequence
3. Oil pan (lower part)
^ Removing and installing, Refer to Oil Pan, Service and Repair
4. 10 Nm
5. Front baffle plate
6. 22 Nm
^ Always replace
7. 20 Nm + 90° (1/4 additional turns)
^ Always replace
^ Insert a new diamond disc -post 9 -between gear and chain sprocket.
8. Gear for differential gear shaft drive
^ Insert a new diamond disc -post 9 -between gear and chain sprocket.

10. Drive chain for oil pump

12. Chain sprocket for oil pump
^ Installation position: Marking faces rear
^ Insert a new diamond disc -post 9 -between gear and chain sprocket.

^ for torque support
^ Adjusting:
^ Place impact for torque support on rubber buffer for torque support, letting it rest under its own weight and tighten bolts to 28 Nm.

6. Oil pressure switch -F1- 1.4 bar - 25 Nm
^ Black insulation
