Three-point Seat Belt With Belt Height Adjuster, Assembly Overview







1 - Belt
- Removing three-point seat belt.

WARNING: Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery.

See Caution before beginning repairs on electrical system
- Disconnect battery.
- Remove top A-pillar trim at B-pillar trim.
- Remove top D-pillar trim at B-pillar trim.
- Remove top B-pillar trim.
- Remove bottom B-pillar trim.
- Remove seat belt eyelets -2- at outer attachment point for seat.
- Remove belt -1- from guide -5-.
- Observe anti-twist mechanism, remove bolt -4- and remove belt tensioner -3-.
- Remove bolt -7- on top of belt height adjuster -6- and remove belt -1- from belt height adjuster.
- If it is desirable to completely remove the belt height adjuster -6-, remove bolt -8-on belt height adjuster.
- Open yellow fuse at yellow-blue connector -9- using a screwdriver and disconnect connector.
- Installation of three-point seat belt.
- Install belt webbing (turned 180 degrees) as shown in illustration (arrow).
- Arrow -A- shows direction of travel.
- Insert firmly so that connector -9- engages properly.
- Rest of installation is reverse of removal.
- After installing passenger side three-point seat belt, check belt function for child seat
- The three-point seat belt must not be hindered by cables, wires or dampening material etc.

2 - Eyelets on belt end, outer attachment point for seat
3 - Belt tensioner
4 - Bolt
- Tightening torque: 55 Nm
5 - Guide
6 - Seat belt height adjuster
- Removal of seat belt height adjuster
- Remove upper B-pillar trim panel -5-
- Remove bolts -7- and -8-.
- Pull belt height adjuster -6- up and remove.
- Installation of seat belt height adjuster.

NOTE:
- Do not press switch -10- when installing.
- Function check after installing trim:
- Height adjuster must audibly engage into all five possible positions (even top position).
- Button must return by itself to upper position after being actuated.

7 - Bolt
- Tightening torque: 55 Nm
- Guide stop must level off without assistance in wearer's direction after tightening the bolt.
8 - Bolt
- Tightening torque: 23 Nm
9 - Connector
10 - Switch for height adjustment
