Rear Three-point Seat Belt, Removing And Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1332
1 - Belt module/belt tensioner
- Removal-Sedan:
- Remove upper C-pillar trim.
- Remove rear shelf.
- Remove insulation part under rear shelf.
- Remove luggage compartment side trim.
- Removal-Avant:
- Remove luggage compartment side trim.
- All:
- Remove bolt - 2 - on belt module/belt tensioner - 1 - from luggage compartment from below.
- Loosen bolt - 5 - on outer seat anchorage point (eyes on end of belt).
- To disconnect harness connector - 7 -, open retainer using a screwdriver (USA).
- Loosen cable with clip.
- Installing:
- When installing belt module - 1 -, ensure bolt - 2 - is in small diameter hole in retainer - 3 - both during and after tightening.
- Ensure noise protection cap - 8 - on belt module - 1 - is seated correctly.
- Ensure the belt tensioner wire - 4 - is clipped in and not in belt area.
- Ensure connector - 7 - (USA) is engaged correctly.
- Perform further installation in sequence opposite of removal.
2 - Screw
- Tightening torque 55 Nm
3 - Belt module/belt tensioner locking holes
4 - Belt tensioner cable with clip
5 - Screw
- Tightening torque 55 Nm
6 - Seat belt
7 - Belt tensioner connector
8 - Noise protection cap
