Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair

Radiator fan, removing and installing
Special tools, repair equipment, testers, measuring instruments and other items required





^ Refractometer T10007
^ Drip tray VAG 1306
^ Torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm) VAG 1331
^ Assembly tools for spring clips VAS 5024

Removing

Notes: Always replace gaskets and sealing rings.

^ Front bumper, removing and installing:
^ Move lock carrier to service position, Refer to Body and Frame, Radiator Support, Service and Repair.
^ Drain off coolant.
^ Remove radiator.





^ Disconnect connectors -1- and -2- and move fan motor wires clear.





^ Unbolt radiator fan -arrows- from radiator cowl.

Installing
Install in reverse order:
^ Install front bumper:
