Seat Belt Control Module: Locations

Rear Three-point Seat Belt, Assembly Overview







1 - Belt module/belt tensioner
- Removal - Sedan:
- Remove top C-pillar trim.
- Remove rear shelf.
- Remove damming piece beneath rear shelf.
- Remove side trim luggage compartment.
- Removal - Avant:
- Remove side trim luggage compartment.
- All:
- Remove bolt -2- accessible from below on belt module/belt tensioner from luggage compartment
- Remove bolt -5- on outer attachment point for seat (eyelets on belt end).
- To disconnect harness connector -7-, open fuse using a screwdriver (USA).
- Remove cable with clip.
- Installing
- When installing belt module -1-, ensure that bolt -2- is engaged in the small diameter catch hole -3-.
- Ensure that the noise protection cover -8- is seated properly on belt module -1-.
- Ensure that the belt tensioner wire -4- is clipped in and not lying in the belt area.
- Ensure that connector -7- (USA) engages properly.
- Complete installation in reverse order of removal.
2 - Bolt
- Tightening torque: 55 Nm
3 - Belt module/belt tensioner catch holes
4 - Belt tensioner wire with clip
5 - Bolt
- Tightening torque: 55 Nm
6 - Seat belt
7 - Harness connector for belt tensioner
8 - Noise protection cover
