Suspension Control ( Automatic - Electronic )

Application of ground clearances (setting dimensions) for suspension

^ Raise vehicle (rear axle suspension fully extended).





^ Insert special tool T 40002 into production mounts at rear (arrow).
^ Turn both knurled screws such that rubber bead in mount is compressed and special tool remains in position.





^ Lower vehicle

Note: Vehicle must be standing on a e/ surface.

Only on AWD models
^ Move vehicle forward and backward approximately 3 feet and bounce rear of vehicle to eliminate wind-up of rear axle tires.
^ Refer to table to check clearance dimension (specified jacking points/shop floor) and repeat basic setting if necessary in the event of deviation. Make allowance for determined deviation at special tool T 40002. If vehicle is too low, increase setting dimension (refer to table) by this amount.

Basic setting must be performed it control module, angle sensor or entire unit is replaced.
Setting is performed for drive position.

Test requirements:
^ Voltage supply and fuses for the relevant systems OK
^ Scan tool VAG 1551/1552 or VAS 5051 connected
^ Use special tool T 40002

Procedure
^ Basic setting is carried out via function "11 - Login"
^ Inserting of special tool T 40002

Perform Function "11 -Login"





Display:
^ Press buttons 1 and 1.





Display:
^ Confirm input with -Q- button.





Indicated on display:
^ Press buttons 3, 1, 5, 6 and 4.





Indicated on display:
^ Confirm input with -Q- buttons.





Indicated on display:
^ Press buttons 0 and 4.





Display:
^ Confirm input with -Q- button.





Indicated on display:
^ Press buttons 0, 0, and 1.





Indicated on display
^ Confirm input with -Q- button.





Indicated on display:
^ Press -,^button.
The system vents air and lowers the rear down to special tool T 40002.
At the same time, the control module forgets the old control position. There is an entry into the DTC memory (DTC 01437).





After completion of basic setting, the following appears in display: 1
^ Now press button 3.





Indicated on display:
^ Press (arrow) button.
^ The basic setting procedure is now completed.
^ Erase DTC memory.
