CAUTION! DO NOT overfill oil past the MAX mark on the oil dipstick. Damage to the Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) could result.
Note: Always replace gaskets and seals.
1 Oil pan lower section
2 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
3 Oil pan -upper section
4 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
5 Grid section
6 Circlip
7 Rubber tube
8 Strainer
9 Oil pump
^ Removing, Refer to Oil Pump
^ If faulty, always replace whole pump
10 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
11 Baffle plate
12 Oil level sensor
13 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
14 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
15 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
16 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
17 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.) additional 90°
^ Apply sealant D 454 300 02 before inserting
^ Always replace

^ When assembling, make sure that dowel for ignition timing is correctly inserted in drive plate.
^ Dowel should project 20 - 22 mm (0.78 to 0.86 inch) from drive plate
20 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
21 Rear sealing flange with oil seal
