Left Combination Valve, Removing and Installing



Removing And Installing Left Combination Valve For Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System

Special Tools and Equipment







- 3094 hose clamps

Removing







- Remove rear engine cover (arrows).







- Remove bolts for holding plate -3- for solenoid valves (arrows).
- Disconnect intake air hose -1- at Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
- Remove hose -4- from air duct -2-.







- Remove bolt (arrow) and disconnect air duct -2- at throttle valve control module.
- Disconnect hose -1- from air duct.

NOTE: Illustration depicts air guide from rear with the engine removed.







- Remove cover -1- in engine compartment (left side).







- Clamp coolant hose -2- using 3094 hose clamps and disconnect coolant hose from coolant reservoir.
- Remove coolant reservoir (arrow)
- Disconnect electrical wire from Engine Coolant Level (ECL) warning Switch -F66- at bottom of reservoir.
- Set coolant reservoir with connected coolant hoses -1- and -3- aside.







- Disconnect electrical harness connectors -1- and -2- at Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor -G163- and Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 3 -G301-.
- Disconnect hose -3- from crankcase ventilation at cylinder head cover.
- Remove heat shield for harness connectors at left of bulkhead.







- Remove bolts -1- at flange of combination valve for secondary air injection.
- Loosen nut -3- by several turns.
- Remove bolts -2- and disconnect vacuum hose (arrow).
- Remove combination valve.

NOTE: Illustration is shown with engine removed.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:

NOTE: Replace gaskets and O-rings.

- Fill with coolant.
