Shift mechanism, disassembling and assembling
Disassembling
^ Remove shift mechanism.
^ Remove stop buffer from shift cable lever.
^ Move selector lever into Tiptronic gate and remove frame.
^ Move selector lever to "2".
^ Lift lever for lock cable and disengage from its mounting and remove from mounting bracket.
^ Move selector lever to " D".
^ Carefully lever spring for Tiptronic position from the outside from mounting bracket
^ Remove clips for bushings of selector lever.
^ Press out mounting bushings for selector lever toward outside, using a screwdriver.
^ Remove complete selector lever.
^ Disassemble selector lever.
^ To remove mounting for Tiptronic position of selector lever, disengage clips on outside of mounting bracket and remove mounting from inside.
^ Press out bolt for locking pawl using a drift.
^Remove shift lock solenoid switch together with locking pawl upward.
^ Carefully pry out lock spring for selector lever positions from outside of mounting bracket.
^ Remove both retaining bolts of selector lever cable and detent
^ Pull out selector lever cable and detent by opening detent upward from mounting bracket
^ Unclip detent from cable lever.

Installing
^ Clip detent to cable lever.
^ Slide cable lever and detent from above with opening of detent into mounting bracket
^ Drive in both mounting bolts for cable lever and detent from both sides into mounting bracket
^ Press in spring and roller for selector lever position into mounting inside of mounting bracket to stop.
^ Insert shift lock solenoid together with locking pawl from above into mounting bracket.
^ Carefully drive in bolt for locking pawl.
^ Mechanically check engagement of locking pawl in "P" and "N" using screwdriver.
^ Insert complete selector lever into mounting bracket
^ Attach selector lever at top and bottom into cable lever.
^ Slide in both mounting bushings for selector lever from the front or rear into the mounting bracket
^ Install locking plates for mounting bushings into mounting bracket with angled sides pointing toward the inside.
^ Push spring for Tiptronic position in its attachment in mounting bracket to stop.
^ Move selector lever to "T.
^ Insert locking pawl in mounting bracket and engage both (you must feel engagement).
^ Check locking function of locking pawl:
Locking pawl must engage in detent in "P" and lock selector lever.
^ Install frame on mounting bracket (ribbed side faces up) and insert stop buffer on selector lever cable
^ Install shift mechanism.
