Code Control Module (function 07)

If a control module with traction control function (ASR) is replaced, or if one of the following codes are stored in the DTC memory of the control module, the control module must be coded according to the type of engine and transmission.

^ "ABS/EDL/transmission - electrical connection"
^ "Control module incorrectly coded"
^ "CAN-Bus - message missing from transmission control module"

Note:
^ The coding can only be performed if a workshop code is stored in VAG 1551 scan tool
Refer to VAG 1551 Operating Manual.
^ The 5-digit coding will appear when the control module identification is displayed.

- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool and select address word 03 "Brake electronics.
- Check the control module version and press (arrow) button.
- Press (arrow) button.

- Press buttons -0- and -7- for the function "Code Control Module".





Indicated on display
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.





Indicated on display:
- Enter the required code and confirm with -Q- button.

The display will show the control module identification and the coding that has been entered (e.g. 00000).
- Press (arrow) button.

- Press buttons -0- and -6- for the function "End Output" and confirm entry with the -Q- button.
