Climatronic Control Module J255 , Removing and Installing



Climatronic Control Module J255, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Torque wrench V.A.G 1783/

Removing
- Move selector lever to "S"
- Switch ignition off.

Removing front ashtray
- Open front ashtray.







- Press button - arrows -.
- Remove ashtray - 1 -.
- Remove bolt - 1 -.
- Remove front ashtray - 2 - from center console.







- Disconnect connector.

Removing center console trim with Multi Media Interface (MMI)
- Remove center console trim with Multi Media Interface (MMI) - 1 -.

2 - Pin
3 - Spring clip
4 - center console

- Disconnect connectors.







- Remove center console trim with Multi Media Interface (MMI).

Remove front A/C control head
- Remove bolts - 1 - (2x).
- Remove Climatronic Control Module J255 - 3 - from center console - 2 -.
- Disconnect connectors.







- Remove Climatronic Control Module J255.

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note following:
Install center console trim with Multi Media Interface (MMI), Climatronic Control Module J255 and front ashtray in following sequence:
- Connect electrical connectors.
- Install Climatronic Control Module J255 in center console but do not screw down.
- Connect electrical connectors at Multi Media Interface (MMI).
- Clip center console trim with Multi Media Interface (MMI) into center console.
- Center center console trim with Multi Media Interface (MMI).
- Tighten Climatronic Control Module J255 to specified tightening torque.
- Install front ashtray.

Tightening torques
Climatronic Control Module J255 to center console: 4 Nm
All other tightening torques can be found in relevant chapter.
