Central Tube, Removing and Installing



Central Tube, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Trim removal wedge 3409
- Feeler gauge

Disassembly

NOTE: All wire ties unfastened or cut open on removal are to be re-attached at same location on installation.

- Remove instrument panel.
- Set down instrument panel with central tube on a soft surface.







- Unclip cap - 1 - with 0.35 mm feeler gauge - 2 - from center defroster vent - arrow -.
- Remove Sunlight Photo Sensor G107 - Item 3 - and disconnect connector.
- Remove bolt - 1 -.
- Remove center defroster vent - 2 - as shown out of instrument panel using Trim removal wedge 3409.







- Press retaining spring in direction of - arrow - and take cap - 2 - out of heater duct.







- Remove bolts - 1 -.
- Remove bolts - arrows - on right of instrument panel.







- Remove felt from instrument panel at outer corners in area of instrument panel insert.







- Remove bolts - arrows - on left of instrument panel.







- Set down instrument panel with upper side resting on a soft surface.

CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for working on airbag.

- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 2 -.
- Remove front passengers airbag from instrument panel.







- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 - at mount for front passengers airbag.
- Unfasten wire tie on drivers side at mount for relay and fuse box.
- Remove wiring harness from mount at central tube on front passengers side.







- Remove central tube from instrument panel.

Assembly
Assemble in reverse order, paying attention to following:

NOTE:
- Install all wire ties at same location on installation.
- Replace self-locking nuts and bolts when performing assembly work.







- Secure bolts - 1 - and - 2 - with locking fluid.
