Access/Start Authorization Control Module

• Component location: On vehicle floor beneath driver's seat.

Removing

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).

- Remove driver's seat.

- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Remove lower A and B-pillar trim.

- Fold back floor carpet.

- If installed, remove bolts - arrows - and set aside retaining bracket with wiring harness.





- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Disconnect electrical connections - 3 - and - 4 - and remove Access/Start Control Module (J518).

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Install lower A- and B-pillar trim.

- Install driver's seat.
