Central Locking, Servicing
Central Locking System, Servicing
- The A8 central locking system is electrical, as opposed to the previous pneumatic version.
- The lock actuators in the doors are integrated into the door lock and feature 2 motors.
- The lock actuators cannot be replaced separately.
- The first motor locks the door, whereas the second locks the interior door handle (deadlock function).
- It is then no longer possible to open the doors even from inside.
- On vehicles with the "Advanced Key" equipment feature, the vehicle must be locked separately when left using the remote control so that the safe function becomes active.
- The safe function can also be activated using the buttons in the door handles.
- The fuel filler flap and rear lid are each provided with a motor and can be replaced separately.
- Following an accident involving airbag triggering, the central locking control module releases any doors which were locked.
- The CL control module is located in the right side panel.
