Cylinder Head Bolts





Replace bolts
First pass Hand tight
Second pass 30 Nm
Third pass 60 Nm
Fourth pass 90° (1/4) additional turn
Final pass 90° (1/4) additional turn

Checking Cylinder Head for Distortion





Check the cylinder head at multiple points for distortion, using a straight edge and feeler gauges.

Maximum permissible warpage 0.1 mm

Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts
Please refer to Left Camshafts and Adjuster Left Camshafts and Adjuster and to Right Camshafts and Adjuster Right Camshafts and Adjuster for tightening specifications and sequence.

• After installing the camshafts, the engine may not be started for approximately 30 minutes. The hydraulic adjusting elements must seat themselves (otherwise the valves will seat themselves on the pistons).

• After working on the valvetrain and lifters, carefully rotate the crankshaft by hand at least 2 full revolutions before starting to be sure that valves do not strike the pistons.

Intake Manifold Fasteners 10 Nm
Bolt on intake manifold in diagonal sequence in stages

Exhaust Manifold to Cylinder Head 25 Nm
Replace fasteners

Camshaft Sprocket Bolts 55 Nm
Replace bolts
