Gear oil in transfer case, checking and topping off
Special tools and equipment





^ VAG 1306 Drip tray

^ Remove right catalytic converter from rear exhaust system and press rear of catalytic converter toward right.
^ Place VAG 1306 drip tray underneath.





^ Remove check screw (arrow -B-).
Fluid level must reach lower edge of filler hole.
^ Top off gear oil if necessary. Specification.

Note: Always replace check screw.





Tightening torque
Check screw M18 in transfer case housing 35 Nm
