Guide link (steel wheel bearing housing), removing and installing
Removing
^ Remove hubcap, for light-alloy wheels pull off center cap (use pulling hook in vehicle tools).
^ Remove wheel.





^ Unscrew nut from joint bolt of guide link, then press off joint bolt. Use 4 mm socket wrench to hold joint bolt if necessary.





^ Remove hex bolt -1-.
Be careful not to damage the surface of the brake lines and the underbody guard!
^ Lower subframe in back, if necessary.
^ Remove guide link.

Installing
^ Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted connections on the suspension links should therefore only be tightened when the vehicle is standing on the ground.
^ Replace all bolts and nuts.





^ Tighten nut on joint bolt to 100 Nm.

Note: Only use the outside holes (arrow).

^ Put in new hex bolt -1- and new hex nut.
^ Tighten to 90 Nm plus additional 90°.
