Lower control arm, removing and installing
Removing
^ Remove wheel.
^ Unscrew cable -2- for wheel speed sensor.

3. Attachment point on axle beam
^ Unscrew hex bolt -E-.
A - Hex bolt
B - Parking brake cable
C - Bracket for parking brake cable
D - Control arm
^ Observe removing and installing procedures for vehicles with headlight vertical aim control
^ Push together catching tabs -A- in direction of (arrow) and push parking brake cable -2- out of control arm -1-.
Note: Do not pull on parking brake cable, or adjustment of parking brake will change!

A - Holding clip for parking brake cable
^ Unscrew bolt -A- for tie rod.
^ Mark installation position of eccentric washer for bolt -B-.
^ Unscrew bolt -B-.
Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal.
^ Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted connections should therefore only be tightened when the vehicle is standing on the ground.
Otherwise, the rubber bushing will be stressed and have a shortened service life.
Tightening torques:
Control arm to axle beam 70 Nm + 90°
Always use new bolts.
Control arm to wheel bearing housing 95 Nm
Shock absorber to control arm 70 Nm + 90°
Always use new bolts.
After installation, position of steering wheel must be checked with a road test.
If the steering wheel is crooked, an axle alignment must be performed!
Note: After installation is complete, check setting of parking brake! This might need adjustment
