Backrest Cover And Padding (Sports Seat, Standard Seat), Assembly Overview

CAUTION: Observe relevant safety precautions for vehicles with side airbags installed.

Detaching cover and padding from backrest frame







1 - Backrest
- Removing
- Remove seat.
- Attach fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 to engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.
- Attach front seat to fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.
- Remove backrest.
- Remove head restraints.
- Remove head restraint guides.
- Remove easy-entry facility.
- Remove backrest cover panel.
- Pry off lower securing strips - 3 - (3x).
- Disengage securing strips - 2 - on side (2x).
- Remove backrest frame.
- Remove side airbag.
- Pry off plastic tabs - 4 - (5x).
- Remove padding with cover.
- Installing
- Installation is in reverse order of removal.
2 - Side securing strips (2x)
3 - Lower securing strips (3x)
4 - Plastic tabs (5x)

Detaching cover from padding







1 - Seat cover

NOTE: When installing a new cover - 1 - cut a slot in cover - 1 - at location of backrest release.

- Removing
- Use a screwdriver to pry the securing strips - 4 - out of the plastic clips - 3 -.
- Installing
- Installation is in reverse order of removal.
- Replace damaged plastic clips.
