Fuel Level Sensor G, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Portable multimeter V.A.G 1526 B







- Connector test set V.A.G 1594 C







Test sequence
- Remove rear seat bench.
- Unbolt cover for right locking flange - arrows -.







- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 1 - at right locking flange.

NOTE: Ignore - Pos. 2







- Connect hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 B between terminal - 2 - and - 3 - for resistance measurement.







NOTE:
- If measured value is 0 ohm. there is a short circuit. If measured value is Infinite Ohms there is and open circuit in the wiring.
- To check resistance values "tank full" or "tank empty", the fuel level sensor G must be removed and the floater of the sensor must be pivoted to the upper or lower end position.
- With fuel level sensor G removed, the following values are obtained because of the greater deflection of the floater arm.
