Procedure
See Caution before beginning repairs on the electrical system
- Note and if necessary, determine radio code for vehicles equipped with coded anti-theft radio/radio navigation system only foreign brands).
- Switch ignition off.
- Slide cover over the battery to the right -arrow 1 - and pull it off upwards -arrow 2-
- Disconnect Ground (GND) strap at battery -arrow-.
- To connect, connect terminal clamp of Ground (GND) cable by hand to battery negative post"-" and tighten nut.
NOTE:
- Be sure to activate vehicle features (radio/radio-navigation system, clock, electric window regulators) according to owner's manual when the battery is reconnected.
- Deactivate service mode of Telematic Control Module.
- Further measures after reconnecting power supply:
- After reconnecting voltage supply, ABS Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) only goes out after driving several meters.
