Convertible Top, Removing

- Center trim for rear panel; remove side panel and rear panel cover.


Vehicles with manual convertible top operation







- With gas-filled strut - 1 - extended (top closed), disengage at the upper tab with ball studs - 4 - on left and right sides.
- Washer - 3 - must be pushed onto the tab with ball stud before attaching gas-filled strut.
- Main bearing - 5 - at convertible top.
- When installing tab with ball stud - 4 -, tighten bolt - 2 - to 6 Nm.
- Tighten ball stud - 6 - to 14 Nm when installing.

Vehicles with hydraulic convertible top operation







- Disengage hydraulic cylinder - 1 - at upper ball stud - 2 - with convertible top closed.
- Tighten ball studs - 2 - and - 5 - to 23 Nm when installing.
- Washer - 3 -.
- Main bearing - 4 - at convertible top.
- Rubber washer - 6 - must be pushed onto ball stud - 5 - before attaching hydraulic cylinder - 1 -.
- Disconnect electrical harness connectors for rear window defroster.
- Disengage trim for convertible top storage compartment at tensioning strut.
