Cylinder head, removing
^ Engine in vehicle

Note:
^ All cable ties which are released or cut open when removing must be replaced in the same position when installing.
^ Heat insulation sleeves that have been removed are to be reinstalled in the original position.
^ If engine oil is contaminated, perform oil change.

^ Drain coolant.
^ Remove intake manifold.
^ Remove timing chain from camshafts.

Note: To avoid damage, the flexible joints in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10.





^ Unbolt front exhaust pipe from exhaust manifolds (arrows).





^ Loosen and remove cylinder head bolts in sequence indicated.





^ Attach lifting tackle 3033 as follows:
^ Belt pulley end: position 3
^ Timing chain end: position 10

Note: The positions marked 1...12 on the lifting tackle 3033 face toward the timing chain end.

^ Carefully lift off cylinder head.
^ Place clean cloths in cylinders to prevent dirt from getting between cylinder wall and piston.
