- V.A.G. 1526 A
- V.A.G. 1527 B
- V.A.G. 1594 A
- V.A.G. 1598/31
- VAS 5051
or
- V.A.G. 1551 with V.A.G. 1551/3 A

Test requirements:
- Output Check Diagnosis completed.

Checking internal resistance
- Disconnect harness connector at Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-.

- Connect a multimeter to valve.
- Specification: 12 to 13 Ohm (at room temperature)
- If specified value is not obtained, replace Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-.

Voltage Supply For Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112- Checking

- Disconnect harness connector at Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-.

- Connect VAG1527B voltage tester as follows:

Harness connector Measure to
Terminal

1 Engine Ground (GND)

- Briefly operate starter (engine can be started).
- LED must light up

If LED does not light up:
- Perform the following test, indicated by below:
- Check fuse for Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-.

- Check wire connection between terminal 1 and fuse for fuel pump relay for open circuit.
- Fuel pump relay checking. Testing and Inspection

Checking activation of Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-

- Connect VAG1527B voltage tester as follows:

Harness connector Measure to
Terminal

2 Battery Voltage (B+)

- Perform Output check diagnosis and activate Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-. Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), (Function 03)
- LED must flash

If LED does not flash or stays on constant:
- Connect Test box V.A.G. 1598/31 to engine control module (ECM) harness. Do not connect ECM. Electrical Testing Using VAG1598/31 Test Box

- Check the following wiring connections for open circuit or short to ground (GND) and/or battery voltage (B+):

Harness connector VAG1598/31 test box
Terminal Socket

2 9

- If necessary, repair open or short circuits.

If wiring connection is OK:
- Replace ECM.
