Oil seal for bevel box output flange, replacing





Special tools and workshop equipment required
^ Thrust piece 30 555
^ 3221 Transmission bracket
^ 3221/1A Support plate
^ Special tool T10049
^ V.A.G 1601 Torque wrench
^ Three - arm puller, e.g. Kukko 45-2

^ Taper roller bearing extractor V.A.G 1582





^ Grip V.A.G 1582/6

Removing
- Bevel box removed





- Removing bevel box (angled final drive) - E-9-34-59
- Secure bevel box in transmission support.
B- Nut M12 x 10 (qty. 4)





- Secure bevel box output flange using support plate 3221/1A.
- Remove hexagon nut using socket - A -.
- Swing bevel box so that output flange points upward.





- Pull off output flange together with oil seal and bearing inner race. A- Three - arm puller, e.g. Kukko 45 2
- Put thrust piece 30 555 on output flange.





- Pull bearing inner race off output flange.
- Pull off oil seal.

Installing





- Insert bearing inner race in bevel box.





- Drive new oil seal in flush.
- Press in output flange.





- Tighten hexagon nut to 350 Nm.
A- Socket attachment
- Install bevel box.
- Check oil in transmission with bevel box.
