Timing Components: Specifications

Chain tensioner for camshaft timing chain to upper cover for timing chain 40 Nm
Vibration damper to crankshaft 100 Nm + 90° (1,2)
1) Replace Bolt
2) 90° equals one quarter turn

Upper cover for camshaft timing chain





Install upper cover for camshaft timing chain and tighten bolts in following sequence:
1. Tighten bolts -1- and -2- to 5 Nm
2. Tighten bolts -3- to 23 Nm
3. Tighten bolts -1- and -2- to 10 Nm
M6 10 Nm
M8 23 Nm

Lower timing chain cover 10 Nm
- Tighten bolts securing lower cover (arrow) for timing chains in diagonal sequence and in stages.
