CAN - Bus, Function

Data - Bus:
Serial transfer of different information via a wire.

Controller Area Network (CAN):
A Controller Area Network (CAN) is a Data - Bus system that works with two lines, called "bus" lines. Via these bus lines data is transferred in series (i.e. in order) to the connected control modules.

These control modules communicate (exchange data) via the CAN - Bus.

The Audi TT is equipped with one of the following:
^ ITT Mark 20 IE ABS/EDL
^ ITT Mark 20 IE ABS/EDL with Automatic Traction control (ATC-sometimes referred to as "ASR"), with or without MSR (over-run torque limiting function).

Depending on the engine version, the control module can be coded for MSR.

Data transfer occurs via a CAN - Bus.
