Checking Camber
Camber at front wheels and centering, checking
Camber cannot be adjusted.
By moving the subframe, it is possible to center the camber symmetrically within the specified tolerance range.
In some cases it may be necessary to elevate the engine with an engine support to relieve some tension and weight from the subframe in order to move it.
- Remove sound insulation.
Convertible only
- Remove front diagonal brace.
Continued for all vehicles
- Loosen hex bolts - 1 -, - 2 -, - 3 -, - 4 -, - 5 -, - 6 -, - 7 - and - 8 -.
- Slide subframe into respective position using a plastic coated tire iron.
Apply pressure in center of subframe between subframe and body longitudinal member.
If no plastic-coated tire iron is available, wrap adhesive tape around a conventional tire iron.
CAUTION: Do not damage any components.
- Install and tighten new hex bolts - 7 - and - 8 -.
- Install and tighten new hex bolts - 5 - and - 6 -.
- Install and tighten new hex bolts - 1 -, - 2 -, - 3 - and - 4 -.
Convertible only
- Install front diagonal brace.
Continued for all vehicles
- Install noise insulation.
Observe the following!
All wheel alignment settings must be checked if camber has been corrected.
