Steering Wheel, Removing And Installing (multi-function Steering Wheel)

- Torque Wrench V.A.G 1331







- Diagnostic Operating System VAS 5051 A







1. Torx bolts T30 (2x)
- Tightening torque 7 Nm

2. Steering wheel
- Removing:
- Remove airbag unit (multi-function steering wheel).
- Put steering wheel in center position (wheels straight).
- Remove bolt - 6 -.
- Disconnect connector for spiral spring - 3 -.
- Disconnect connector for multi-function steering wheel cable - 9 -.
- For steering wheel heater: Disconnect connector for steering wheel heater - 10 -.
- Remove steering wheel - 2 -.

- Installation:
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Make sure connector and securing clip completely engage (audible).
- Place voltage supply cable - 7 - in clip - 8 -.
- Attach steering wheel in center position (wheels straight).
- Replace bolt - 4 - and tighten to 50 Nm.

6. Socket-head bolt
- Tightening torque 50 Nm

7. Voltage supply cable
8. Clip
9. Connector for multi-function steering wheel
10. Connector for steering wheel heater
11. Return spring with slip ring
