Toe-constant "S", adjusting
- Loosen hex nut - A -.
- Remove bolt - B - approximately 4 mm.
- Push tie rod ball joint downward onto stop.
Note:
^ Do not apply a chisel or similar tool between steering arm - 1 - and seal - 2 - when pressing out the tie rod, otherwise the seal can be damaged.
^ When pressing tie rod out of steering arm, apply pressure only to end of tie rod ball joint, or knock out end of joint using a wooden or rubber mallet.
- Screw in bolt - B - until exact specification is achieved.
- Tighten hex nut - A - and check adjustment.
- Tighten bolt - B -.
- Lower vehicle back into initial position.
- Screw down threaded spindle.
- Bounce vehicles with standard suspension several times.
Checking toe-constant after adjusting
The wheel alignment equipment will then recheck the toe-constant.
If the second check shows that the values are within the tolerance (specification when checking adjustment), the setting is OK.
If the values are outside the tolerance (specification when checking adjustment), the setting must be adjusted again with the suspension in the raised position.
