Condition
No permanent fault codes are stored in Navigation plus, and one or more of the following conditions are encountered:
- With Sirius satellite radio - selected Station Category filter(s) are changed after ignition is cycled.
- With Sirius satellite radio - Satellite Station list freezes and does not respond to input from the control knob.
- Please insert Navigation DVD appears on display in error when the correct Audi Navigation DVD is in the drive.

When DVD is removed and inserted again, it is recognized and route guidance can be used.
Tip: This bulletin does not address DVD unreadable or other DVD errors. For proper diagnosis, use Guided Functions on the VAS 5051/5052 under Navigation (Address 37) to:
- Check DVD read status in Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 10 and 11.
- Perform DVD drive read test using Adaptation Channel 65.
- Verify Adaptation Channel 10 value is 0.

Service
Perform software update to version 0040 using Navigation plus Update CD Part No: 8E0 906 961 K.
Replacing Navigation plus units for concerns covered by the Software update will not be covered under the applicable warranties.
Tip: Navigation Plus Update CD Part No: 8E0 906 961 K has been provided to dealers free of charge.
Additional copies of the Update CD may be ordered from the Audi Technical Literature Ordering Center.
1. Verify software version currently stored in the unit. If Version 0040 or greater is currently stored, this bulletin does not apply.
2. Remove navigation DVD from the unit.
3. Insert update CD Part No: 8E0 906 961 K into DVD drive of the Navigation Plus.

After approximately 30 seconds, the software update will automatically begin.
Tip: Ensure that the software updating process is not interrupted while automatic updating is taking place.
When the first part of software CD Part No: 8E0 906 961 K has downloaded, the Navigation plus will reboot.
When the Navigation plus has finished rebooting, the second part of software CD Part No: 8E0 906 961 K will download.
Once download is complete, Navigation Plus will AGAIN reboot. Next, the following steps must be performed:
1. Remove Update CD and insert customer's Audi Navigation DVD into DVD drive.
2. Verify correct software version is stored in the unit. Press the CAR button. Select Version (0040 should appear).
3. Verify coding is correct. (Use Guided Functions on the VAS 5051/5052 Diagnostic tool.)
4. Verify Adaptation Channels 1, 2 and 10 are correct. (Use Guided Functions on the VAS 5051/5052 Diagnostic tool.)
5. Read out and clear DTC memory.
6. Check functionality of Navigation plus.
