Radio Head Unit With Navigation System With CD Drive Control Module J401, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Radio release tool T10057

NOTE: Should radio navigation head unit require replacement, follow applicable component "Replacement" procedure using VAS 5051/5051 in operating mode "Guided Fault Finding"

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

Removing:
- Switch unit on.
- Press button to fold down display.
- Switch unit off.

CAUTION: The display will fold back up automatically after about 1 minute.

It is necessary to fold down display to insert release tool at top left of unit as illustrated in - magnified view -.







- Insert release tools T10057 -arrows - into slots on unit until they engage. Pointed ends of grips must face outwards.
- Grasp hold of grips on tools and remove unit from instrument panel.
- Press release tabs on unit and remove tools.

Installing:
- Connect electrical connections.
- Slide unit carefully into instrument panel and engage in mounting frame.
