Front Wheel Speed Sensor, Removing and Installing

Front axle speed sensor, removing and installing

Removing
- Loosen wheel bolts.
- Raise vehicle.
- Remove wheel.





- Unclip speed sensor wiring from retainers - 1 -.





- Unclip speed sensor wiring from retainers - 1 -.
- Detach speed sensor connector - 2 -.
- Unclip speed sensor wiring from retainers - 2 -.





- Release grommet - 1 - in wheel housing.
- Pull ABS speed sensor from wheel bearing housing.
- Disconnect connector.

Installing
- Before installing speed sensor, install sealing collar and coat speed sensor all round with lubricating paste G 000 650.
- Install ABS speed sensor.
- Clip speed sensor wiring into retainers and install grommet in wheel housing.

Install wheels.
- Turn steering completely to left and right and check clearance of speed sensor wire.

Checking rotor on front axle, removing and installing
- Remove wheel.
- Pull speed sensor out of wheel bearing housing.
- Check that rotor is not damaged or dirty.

Note:
^ If rotor is damaged or dirty, remove drive axle. If damaged, replace outer CV joint together with rotor.
^ The outer CV joint is supplied as a replacement part with the rotor.
