Rear Transverse Link Nut



Nut for securing transverse link to subframe, replacing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Torque wrench V.A.G 1332

Note:
^ The nut securing the transverse link to the subframe must be replaced if it is damaged. Only use the correct nut listed in the Parts catalog when performing repairs.





^ Due to the inaccessibility of the inner bolt - 1 - when the vehicle is standing on wheels, the transverse link can only be removed after the subframe has been removed.
^ After completing repair perform wheel alignment.

Removing
- Remove subframe.
- Remove bolt connection - 1 -.
- Pivot transverse link upward out of bracket on subframe.

Note:
^ Make sure not to damage the transverse link when screwing in socket head bolt.





- Screw in a hex socket head bolt M12 x 1.5 x 20 (Part No. N902 268 01) or similar - 1 - into nut - 2 - as far as stop.
A hex bolt M12 x 1.5 x 20 can also be used as an alternative.
- Keep turning socket head bolt until damaged nut is screwed out of bracket on subframe.

Installing

Note:
^ Replace bolts and self-locking nuts instructions in exploded views.

- Insert transverse link into bracket on subframe.





- Install replacement nut - 2 - in bracket on subframe by pulling it in using a new combi bolt - 1 -.
- Tighten combi bolt - 1 -.
- Install subframe.
- Perform wheel alignment.
Wheel alignment must be performed on wheel alignment equipment recommended by Audi.
