CAUTION:
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch the ignition off and remove ignition key.
- Disconnect negative (-) battery terminal.
- Prior to disconnecting vehicle battery on vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar(R), switch-off the emergency (back-up) battery for Telephone/Telematics Control Module J526.
- After reconnecting vehicle battery on vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar(R), switch-on the emergency (back-up) battery for Telephone/Telematics Control Module J526.
- When disconnecting and reconnecting battery terminals, observe all applicable Notes and torque specifications, as well as instructions on performing OBD program and electrical system function checks as specified in.
Radio Navigation System "Navigation Plus" installed as optional equipment from 11.04 production.
Navigation system display and controls are integrated with full-function radio head unit with memory card reader (MP3), single audio CD-player and optional audio CD-changer functions.
All Audi radio units are coded in the instrument cluster as part of the convenience system. It is not necessary to enter an "anti-theft" code subsequent to disconnecting and reconnecting the vehicle battery, removing and installing the existing radio or removing and installing the existing instrument cluster.
Navigation data (maps) are DVD disc format.
The centrally-located 5 inch color radio/navigation display can be folded open to reveal Navigation DVD - Audio CD drive and two memory card readers.
Navigation controls are performed via MMI-type buttons that surround the color display.
The navigation system consists of:
- Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module J401
- Radio, Telephone, Navigation System Antenna R52
Before troubleshooting or servicing, technicians must be familiar with the functions and operation specifics of the optional radio navigation system. Always read the appropriate owners manuals and review all system functions.
