Readiness Code, Cannot Be Set Using Guided Fault Finding (GFF)

Model(s):
A6 w/V6 3.2 FSI (Eng. code BKH) 2005

Condition

GFF with Brand CD V.07.34 installed may not be able to set Readiness Code.

A new Readiness Code Setting procedure should be implemented for GFF on Brand CD V07.36.

Service

- Connect VAS 5051/5052 Diagnostic tool.

- Switch ignition ON.

- From Start-up screen, select Vehicle Self-Diagnosis.

- Select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics"

- Select diagnosis function "04 - Basic settings".

- Input "200" on keypad to select "Channel 200".

- Select "Q" button to confirm.





- Select "Activating" button to initiate test.

- Fully depress and hold both brake and accelerator pedals.

^ Automatic short trip function will be started.

- Wait until value in "Field 1" -white arrow- counts down to "0" and "Field 2" -black arrow- shows "Syst. OK".

Tip:

Entire procedure may take more than 5 minutes.

Tip:

Do not turn engine OFF or this readiness code procedure will need to be restarted from the beginning.

- Select backward arrow < on navigation bar.

- Input "228" on keypad to select "Channel 228".

- Select "0" button to confirm.





- Select "Activating" button -black arrow- to initiate test.





- Fully actuate accelerator pedal one or more time(s) in short intervals allowing engine RPM to go above 3000 RPM and back to idle until "Field 4" "bit position indicated by -arrow-" changes from "1" to "0".

^ As soon as bit position indicated by -arrow- changes from "1" to "0", Readiness Code is set.
