Center Rear Three-Point Seat Belt with Folding Backrest

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)





1 Seat Belt Anchor

2 Belt Webbing

3 Belt Relay

4 Bolt

Tightening specification 55 Nm

5 Anti-rotation Protector

6 Tube

7 Adapter Plate

8 Third Rear Three-Point Seat Belt

Removing

- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat.

- Remove seat belt anchor - 1 - => [ Remove belt anchor ].

- Remove 2/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Right 2/3 Backrest ] Right 2/3 Backrest.

- Remove 2/3 rear seat backrest upholstery until you can remove anchor with upholstery.

- Remove the screw - 4 -.

- Vehicles with a seat belt tensioner: open the catch - 15 - and disconnect the connector - 9 -.

- Remove nut - 10 -.

- Remove seat belt - 8 -.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Be sure to note the following:

- Place an adapter plate - 7 - in anti-rotation protector - 5 - if needed.

- Insert seat belt - 8 -.

- Ensure seat belt is seated correctly on anti-rotation protector - 5 - or adapter plate - 7 -.

- Install nut - 10 - and tighten lightly by hand.

- Align the seat belt - 8 -: the horizontal edges on the frame must be parallel to tube - 6 -.

- Tighten the nuts - 10 -. Hold seat belt in aligned position by counterholding with screwdriver.

- Vehicles with a seat belt tensioner: make sure the connector - 9 - is secure and then close the bracket - 15 -.

- Clip belt guide cover in by hand - 12 -.

- Ensure retainer tabs - 11 - (quantity: 2) engage in body.

- Vehicles with a seat belt tensioner: check the safety belt fastening detection. Refer to => [ Rear Three Point Seat Belt with Belt Tensioner, Checking Belt Fastening Detection ] Seat Belts, Inspecting.

The belt relay - 3 - and belt webbing - 2 - must not touch or graze foam pieces or anchor pieces.

Belt relay - 3 - must follow each belt webbing movement.

Belt webbing - 2 - must move freely in all directions.

9 Belt Tensioner Connector

10 Nut

Tightening specification 55 Nm

11 Retainer Tabs

Quantity: 2

12 Belt Guide Cover

13 Sealing Ring

Must be replaced

14 Bolt

Tightening specification 55 Nm

Use only original screws

15 Securing Bracket

Remove belt anchor





Removing

- Remove the screw - 1 -.

- Slide belt anchor - 4 - out in direction of arrow.

- Thread belt webbing - 2 - out of guide - 3 -.

- Loosen belt anchor by loosening seal from screw on underside and removing screw.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Be sure to note the following:

Tightening specification for the bolt - 1 -: 55 Nm.
