Notes On Repairs For Wiring Harnesses And Connectors
CAUTION:
- For repairs on vehicle electrical system, soldering is not permitted.
- Never repair welded connections. If necessary, lay a wire parallel to the defective wire.
- Shielded wires, such as RPM sensors and knock sensors, may not be repaired. If damaged, they must be replaced completely.
- Wiring harness repairs may only be carried out using yellow wires. Mark repaired areas using yellow adhesive tape.
- Yellow wires and areas in the wiring harness wrapped with yellow adhesive tape mark a previously performed repair.
