CAUTION!

Standard/BOSE(R) sound system through MY 2005

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set (VAS 6223)

• Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

CAUTION!
• Switch off all electrical components.

• Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.

Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

Removing

- Remove left luggage compartment side trim.

Vehicles with Digital Radio (DAB) (R147) and Digital TV Tuner (R171)

- First remove Digital TV Tuner (R171)

All vehicles

- Remove bolts of Parking Aid Control Module (J446) - 1





- Disconnect all harness connectors on Radio (R) - 2 -.

- Fit the Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - on to the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Remove nuts - 3 - (3 Nm).





- Pull Radio (R) - 2 - off the threaded pin - 3 - and pull retaining lugs on rear side of Radio (R) - arrows - out of retaining plate.

- Remove Speech Input Control Module (J507) => [ Speech Input Control Module ] Voice Recognition System.

Installing

- Install in reverse order.
