Interior Rearview Mirror Components

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

Light Recognition Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Improvised tool





- Use 0.7 mm thick metal strip to make an improvised tool with the dimensions shown.

Removing





- Guide offset end of improvised tool - 1 - under side of trim - 2 - as shown.

- Release trim retainer tabs by pulling improvised tool in - direction of arrow -.

- Repeat procedure on opposite side.

- Disconnect electrical connector - 1 -.





- Squeeze fasteners - arrows - and take light recognition sensor (G399) - item 2 - out of mount.

Installing

Install in reverse order.

Humidity Sensor, without Lane Assist

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B)

Improvised tool





- Use 0.7 mm thick metal strip to make improvised tool with dimensions shown.

Removing

- If the humidity sensor (G355) was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" with the (VAS 5051B).

- Remove front interior lamp. Refer to => [ Front Interior Lamp with Roof Electronics Control Module, through 08.07 ] Roof Trim Lamps and Switches or => [ Front Interior Lamp with Roof Electronics Control Module, from 09.07 ] Roof Trim Lamps and Switches.





- Remove interior mirror.

- Remove screws - arrows -.

- Unclip cover for sun visor center support and remove bolts.

- Remove the sun visor center support.

- Guide offset end of improvised tool - 1 - under side of trim - 2 - as shown.





- Release trim retainer tabs by pulling improvised tool in - direction of arrow -.

- Repeat procedure on opposite side.

- Unplug connector - arrow - at front interior lamp.





- Guide humidity sensor (G355) electrical wires between molded headliner and body.

- Press cover apart slightly at both sides - arrows - and remove humidity sensor - item 1 -.





Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

After removing sun visor center support, always remove traces of locking fluid from tapped holes. Otherwise, there will be a danger of the bolts seizing and shearing off on subsequent disassembly.

Cleaning can be performed using a tap of appropriate size.

Replace self-locking bolts.

- Carefully place humidity sensor in side guides.

If humidity sensor is not installed correctly, it will not be centered in hole in cover.

- Install interior mirror.

- Install the front interior lamp. Refer to => [ Front Interior Lamp with Roof Electronics Control Module, through 08.07 ] Roof Trim Lamps and Switches or => [ Front Interior Lamp with Roof Electronics Control Module, from 09.07 ] Roof Trim Lamps and Switches.

Tightening Specifications






Humidity Sensor, with Lane Assist





- If the humidity sensor (G355) was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).

- Pry the top cover - 1 - from the interior rearview mirror base - arrows -.

- Remove front interior lamp. Refer to => [ Front Interior Lamp with Roof Electronics Control Module, from 09.07 ] Roof Trim Lamps and Switches.





- Remove interior mirror.

- Remove screws - arrows -.

- Unclip cover for sun visor center support and remove bolts.

- Remove the sun visor center support.

- Unplug connector - arrow - at front interior lamp.





- Guide humidity sensor (G355) electrical wires between molded headliner and body.

- Spread the cover - 1 - apart slightly at both sides - arrows - and remove the humidity sensor - item 2 -.





Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
