Left and Right Engine Mounts
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine support bridge (10-222A)
• Shackle (10-222A/12)
• Adapter (10-222A/21)
Removing
• Before raising the vehicle on the hoist (wheels off the ground), activate the vehicle lift mode.
- Remove the rubber seal for the plenum chamber cover - 1 -.
- Remove the plenum chamber covers - 2 and 3 -.
- Remove engine cover - 1 - upward.
- Remove the clips - 1 -.
- Remove the bolt - 2 - and remove the cover.
• Note the clips - arrows - when installing.
- Remove the left cover by removing bolt - 1 - and removing expanding rivet - 2 -.
• Note the clips - arrows - when installing.
- Remove the cover bracket bolt - 1 -.
- Remove the bracket for Air Conditioning (A/C) line - 2 -.
- Unclip the bracket from the A/C line - 3 -.
- Remove the tower brace bolts - 4 - on the left and right sides.
- Secure the (10-222A) with the (10-222A/21) at the strut domes.
- Install the (10-222A/21) to the tower brace - 3 - on the left and right.
• Support for the left and right side of vehicle is marked.
• The center support point is secured on the front bolts for tower brace.
• Knurled head screw - 1 - must be turned downward far enough so that supporting plate makes contact on the strut dome.
- Secure the (10-222A/12) to the right rear engine lifting eyes.
- Hook the (10-222A/12) into the spindles of the (10-222A).
- Slightly pretension the engine using the engine support bridge spindles.
- Remove the front noise insulation fasteners - 1 - and noise insulation.
- Remove the bolts - 1 through 3 - on the left and right.
- Lower the engine carrier.
Right Engine Mount
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 2 - from the engine mount.
- Remove the wire clip - 1 - from the engine mount bracket.
- Remove the engine mount bracket bolts - arrows -.
- Remove the engine mount and bracket.
Left Engine Mount
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - from the engine mount.
- Unclip the electrical wire clip - 2 -.
- Remove the engine mount bracket bolts - arrows -.
- Remove the engine mount and bracket.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• All cable ties which are opened or cut off when removing the engine, must be replaced in the same position when installing engine.
