Alignment: Testing and Inspection
Wheel alignment must be performed if:
^ Road holding is poor.
^ Following accident damage.
^ If axle components have been removed.
^ If tires are worn on one side.
Test requirements:
^ Tread depth difference of no more than 2 mm on an axle
^ Tires inflated to prescribed pressure
^ Vehicle at correct curb weight 1)
1) Curb weight is defined as follows: Weight of the vehicle ready for the road (fuel tank and fluid reservoir for window/headlamp washer system completely filled, spare wheel, vehicle tools and vehicle jack) and without driver.
Spare wheel, vehicle tools and vehicle jack must be located in the position specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
^ Check suspension, steering and steering linkage for excessive play and damage, repair if necessary.
Clarification of Production Control numbers (PR No.):
The suspension version installed in the vehicle is indicated by the relevant PR no. on the vehicle data sticker. Number indicated.
Example of a vehicle data sticker
- Item -A- indicates the PR No. for the front axle.
The vehicle data sticker is at the rear in the spare tire well.
1BK = Standard suspension
2MA = Sports suspension
